IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM SHARON SHIPMAN, TAX COLLECTOR

In a continued effort to inform the taxpayers of Upper Allen Township, please note the following important information related to still-unpaid 2022 County/Township Real Estate and/or School Real Estate Taxes.

            Due to end-of-year close-out procedures:

• I cannot accept personal checks after December 23, 2022.  I also cannot accept personal checks that are postmarked with that date – I must have them in-hand by that date.  Personal checks received after December 23, 2022 will be returned and taxes will remain unpaid.

• I can accept cashier’s checks, certified checks or money orders after December 23, 2022, but I cannot accept them after December 30, 2022.  I cannot accept cashier’s checks, certified checks or money orders that are postmarked with that date – I must have them in-hand by that date, and any cashier’s checks, certified checks or money orders that are received after December 30, 2022 will be returned and taxes will remain unpaid.

• I do not accept cash payments.

• On or after January 1, 2023, I am required to turn over any unpaid taxes to the Cumberland County Tax Claim Bureau, One Courthouse Square, Room 104, Carlisle, PA 17013 for collection.  Once unpaid taxes reach this point, additional penalties, fees and interest are added.
