Upper Allen Township’s Emergency Management Agency (EMA) was formed by order of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, Title 35.  The department is responsible for responding to emergencies, preventing and reducing the loss of life, preserving property and the environment, and promoting public safety. Working together with other township departments, Cumberland County, emergency services and community organizations.

Recently, the Township has chosen to adopt the Fire Code. This allows the fire inspector(s) to perform annual commercial business inspections to promote safety. This ordinance can be viewed here.

The Emergency Manangement Coordinator serves as the liaison to the emergency response community and serves as the Fire Marshal.

By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.

Benjamin Franklin

Are you prepared for an emergency or disaster? A lot of times the answer is “maybe”, “I don’t know”, or simply “no”. Unfortunately, many don’t know what being prepared is or what is needed. With helpful tools that show how to make a plan and build a kit, we can create a more resilient household and community.
