Construction to begin in March on Gettysburg Pike and South Market Street
Beginning the week of March 6th, road improvements are expected to begin along Gettysburg Pike and South Market Street. The improvements include pole relocations from PP&L, lane widening and repaving, new turn lanes, sidewalk and other pedestrian access upgrades, an extension of the left-turn lane for the US Route 15 south bound on-ramp, and more.  No road closures are expected, only lane closures. Please proceed with caution through this and any other active construction zone or use alternative routes.
Construction will take place in two phases. The following Improvement Map illustrates generalized improvements associated with each phase.Â
- Phase I, Improvements along Gettysburg Pike. Phase 1 is expected to begin in early March and go through the end of June. Exact start and end dates may change depending on weather, construction material availability, and other conditions.
-  Phase II, Improvements along South Market Street. Phase II will begin later this year. Anticipated construction dates to be determined at a later time. Â
This post will be updated periodically as new information becomes available.Â
