Residents with public streets adjoining their properties are reminded that it may be necessary to trim the trees along their property line, as they are not permitted to encroach into the roadway. The trimming is required to ensure the safe passage of all vehicles on Township roadways. At a minimum, trees should be trimmed back at least one foot (1’) from the edge of the road and up to a minimum height of fourteen feet (14’).

Additionally, property owners should ensure that all dead or leaning trees (into the road) are addressed and, if need be, removed. In some cases, limbs being trimmed may need to be cleared to the trunk of the tree.

Please inspect your trees and take steps now to maintain them for the safety of others.
